STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe the Bible is the
inspired Word of God, the product of holy men of God who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (II Timothy
3:16, II Peter 1:21).
We believe there is one true God, eternally existing as three separate persons---the Father,
the Son, and the Holy Spirit (I John 5:7).
We believe Jesus, being the Son of God, came to this earth as a man. He
was conceived by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary (Matthew 1:18). Jesus walked in this earth as a man, emptying Himself
of His Godly authority and privileges (Philippians 2:7).
We believe Jesus lived a sinless life and paid the price for
us all by laying down His life in obedience to the Father (Hebrews 4:15, II Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 9:28, Philippians 2:8).
We
believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, that He was buried, that His Spirit and His soul descended into hell, that
on the third day, the Father raised Him from the dead, and that He ascended up into Heaven where He sits at the Father’s own
right hand today. This is the true gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, and this is the gospel that we preach (I Corinthians 15:1-4,
Psalm 16:8-10, Psalm 88:6, Ephesians 1:19-22).
We believe a person must be born again or saved by confessing Jesus
Lord and by believing in the heart that God raised Jesus from the dead (John 3:3, Romans 10:8-10, 13).
We believe that
following the born-again experience, a person should be baptized in water by immersion and baptized in the Holy Spirit with
the evidence of speaking in other tongues (Romans 6:3-5, Ephesians 1:13-14, Acts 10:44-46).
We believe that salvation
is a gift of God to mankind, not according to works or the law of Moses, but by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
(Ephesians 2:8-9). We believe there is an eternal hell as described by Jesus in Luke 16 reserved for people whose names
are not written in the Book of Life (Luke 16:19-31, Revelation 20:15).
We believe that when Jesus was raised from the
dead, the Father forgave our sins, and through faith in the blood of Jesus, we have redemption from sin, from the law of Moses
which includes the Ten Commandants, from the authority of Satan, and our conscience is purged from dead works that we might
serve the living God (I Peter 2:24, Romans 3:19-26, Galatians 3:13, Galatians 4:4-5, Colossians 1:13-14, Hebrews 9:14).
We
believe that when Jesus was raised from the dead, the Father sanctified us to Himself; He justified us from all things from
which the law could not justify us, and He made us righteous through the gift of righteousness (Acts 13:39, Romans 5:17).
We
believe that when Jesus was raised from the dead, the Father healed us of every disease and every sickness; He made us rich,
and He made us kings and priests unto our God that we might reign and rule in this life through Christ Jesus (Isaiah 53:4-5,
II Corinthians 8:9, Revelation 5:9-10).
We believe the just shall live by the faith of God. Faith comes by hearing
the gospel. A person must serve God with his/her spirit in the gospel and mix faith with the gospel for the gospel to profit
him/her (Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, Hebrews 10:38, Romans 10:13-17, Romans 1:9, Hebrews 4:2).
We believe
that God set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of
healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues (I Corinthians 12:28). We believe that just as Jesus commissioned
the eleven apostles to go and teach, or make disciples of, all nations by teaching them to observe all things the Jesus had
commanded the eleven while He was on the earth, so He has commissioned us today to do the same (Matthew 28:18-20, Hebrews
13:8).
We believe that at His coming, the dead in Christ will rise first and then those who are alive and remain will
be caught up together with Jesus in the clouds, and we believe that only the Father knows when this will occur (I Thessalonians
4:14-17, I Corinthians 15:51-53, Matthew 24:36).
We believe that signs will always follow the preaching of the gospel,
and this was demonstrated in Acts chapter 8 and Acts chapter 10 (Mark 16:15-18, Acts 8:5-8, Acts 10:44-46).
We believe
every word of the New Testament as it is written and that is can only be received and understood through the Holy Spirit (John
16:13, I Corinthians 2:9-12).
